Surrey City Council has endorsed staff recommendations to amend the Surrey Zoning Bylaw, 1993, No. 12000, as amended, to include:
Defined Rapid Transit Areas (“RTAs”) consisting of the existing Expo SkyTrain Line (City Centre) and planned corridors of Surrey-Langley-SkyTrain (Fleetwood Plan) and Surrey-Newton-Guildford (Guildford Town Centre and King George Corridor);
Reduced multi-family residential parking requirements in areas located in RTAs;
Applying flat per unit parking rates (1.1 - 1.3 stalls per unit) instead of based on type of unit in RTAs;
New market rental housing parking requirements (0.65 - 0.85 stall per unit at City Centre, 0.8 -1.0 per units at other RTAs, and 1.1 - 1.3 stalls per unit City-wide; and
Expansion of Alternative Parking Provisions to the new RTAs.
